I love cycling and I love spin class. So, when Aaron Foster, the spin instructor at my gym, recently launched CYCLE-THERAPY, a mobile spin studio offering pop-up spin classes at Pier 31 on Chicago’s lakefront, I was very excited to check it out. Being the cycling fan I am, I actually rode my own bike the 3 miles to Pier 31 to catch this awesome outdoor spin class (I know!). I did not know any of the other students in last night’s class but I did know that everyone showing up would be like-minded. So, going solo was not going to be an issue. Of course, I was right 🙂
Currently, CYCLE-THERAPY spin classes are offered on the deck at Pier 31 on Monday and Tuesday evenings at 6, 7 and 8 pm. Bikes are limited and you can reserve yours online at www.cycle-therapy.bike.
Despite yesterday’s somewhat ominous looking skies, Aaron’s 6 pm CYCLE-THERAPY spin class was packed with 15 happy and eager spin enthusiasts! Seriously, what is not to love about the idea of an outdoor spin class on the beach with a prime view of Lake Michigan and the amazing Chicago skyline as your backdrop? As usual, Aaron toted his own speakers so we could get our cycling groove on to some very motivating and kick-ass tunes! I am certain that the people playing beach volleyball and the folks enjoying snacks at Pier 31’s grill next to our spin class were very happy we brought the party to them 🙂
CYCLE-THERAPY pop-up spin classes can happen just about anywhere. While Aaron is working on trying to secure other outdoor locations, he will also bring his bikes to a location of your choice. For more information about scheduling a CYCLE-THERAPY spin event, visit www.cycle-therapy.bike.
Whether you are a Chicago resident or you are in town for a visit and looking for a very cool outdoor activity, check out CYCLE-THERAPY spin classes at Pier 31 on Chicago’s stunning lakefront.
